How do I use the bitteR™ spray correctly?
Start by identifying the areas rats usually chew, like wires, cables, hoses, or plastic parts. Wear the gloves and mask provided with the can. Shake the can well before use. Spray a double coat from about 4 inches away. Let the first coat dry fully before applying the second.
Can I spray this on plants, roots or soil in my garden?
No. bitteR™ is not designed for use on plants, crops, or soil. The formula works best on hard surfaces like rubber, plastic, or metal, where rats tend to chew.
Spraying it on dirt or vegetation will not provide reliable results.
Do I need to wear the gloves and mask provided?
Yes. While the spray is non-toxic, it has an extremely bitter taste that can linger if it touches your skin or mouth. Wearing gloves and a mask helps avoid contact during application. It is an easy step to help prevent accidental exposure to the bitterant.
Are there any side effects on people or pets?
No. This product does not have any side effects apart from being intensely bitter. It is not poisonous and will not be harmful to humans or pets. The strong bitter taste of the formulation is designed to keep rats away. If you sense bitterness in your mouth after application, eat chocolate which will help in reducing the bitter sensation. If you experience a strong bitterness in your mouth or throat. Gargling with salt water is recommended. If it persists seek professional medical assistance.
Can I use the product indoors?
Yes, but you should be careful. Only use bitteR™ in closed, non-food areas like basements, attics, behind appliances, or storage rooms. Spray from a safe distance, avoid contact with skin, and do not use on anything that people or pets frequently touch. Let the sprayed area dry completely before use or re-entry.
Why do I still see rats after using bitteR™ in my car?
bitteR™ works by stopping rats from chewing, not by removing them. If some parts are left unsprayed, rats may still show up and look for other areas to bite. The goal is to coat all entry points, wires, and chewing zones. Once the entire area is treated, rats will quickly learn to avoid it.
Can I spray bitteR™ inside my car’s cabin or trunk?
No, that is not recommended. The bitter taste is long-lasting and can linger inside your cabin or trunk. Only spray under the hood, around the engine, near rubber seals, and at possible rodent entry points. Avoid spraying any surface people may touch or breathe near.
How do I apply bitteR™ under my car?
We recommend visiting a car workshop and using a hydraulic lift for safe access. Spray bitteR™ generously on the car’s underside while it is lifted. Never crawl under the car to spray directly from close range. It is unsafe and less effective.
Will spraying under the hood make my AC smell bad?
No. The spray is odorless and will not cause a smell in the AC system. Just make sure not to spray directly into the AC intake vents. Also, wait at least 4 hours before starting the engine after spraying.
How often should I reapply bitteR™?
A full double coat should remain effective for up to 60 days. However, if the area is exposed to rain, moisture, or gets serviced, you may need to reapply sooner. Check the surfaces regularly and re-spray if you notice fading or if rats return.
Do I have to use the entire can at once? How long will it last?
No, you do not need to use the full can in one go. Use only as much as needed to fully coat the surfaces you are treating. Store the can in a cool, dry place and reapply as needed before the expiration date.
